Our mission at Renato School of Jewelry Making is to offer beginning and advanced  bench jewelers intensive            
hands-on old world philosophy jewelry making techniques. These techniques include gold and silver hand forming      
and fabrication, introduction to metals, metal testing, piercing, filing, soldering, re-tipping, re-pronging, polishing,
and finishing. Proper use of hand tools and power equipment, choosing the right materials, creative problem
solving, awareness of the best solutions to create fine jewelry and a commitment to the highest quality
craftsmanship. We teach students the time-honored skills and methods that produced work of the highest
standards. We hope you will take this opportunity to learn fine jewelry making, restoration, repair, diamond
setting and the art of goldsmith.

                                                  JEWELRY REPAIR AND RESTORATION

Jewelry repair and restoration is an art requiring patience, skill and craftsmanship. Our jewelry school teaches
you the techniques used in the jewelry trade to properly solder chains,size rings, and set stones using standards
set by Jewelers of America NY.  JA or Jewelers of America is the national trade association for jewelers. Through
the JA BENCH JEWELER CERTIFICATION programs, JA provides a national standard that rates the talents proficiency
of the bench jeweler. This is done through a series of tests at four levels.JA CERTIFIED MASTER BENCH JEWELER
is the highest level. JA Certification gives the bench jeweler a method of instantly presenting their skill level to
potential employer or customers.

Renato L. Ronquillo is a JA Certified Jewelry Professional a Master Goldsmith with more than 38 years of experience in
jewelry designing,  manufacturing, diamond setting and sales. Successfully operating in the jewelry retail and
repair trade shop. He has obtained the highest possible certification in the jewelry industry. "JA Certified Master
Bench Jeweler" the only one in Houston and the 27th in Texas to achieved such degree of qualification by the
year 2005. He is a multiple winner of the Texas Jewelers Association, Jewelry Design Competition. His winning
